Who Will Win The Game?
By: Meg Scheibel

We sit here thinking about the past and what is in store for the future. After witnessing the death of Robb, his mother and his unborn child, it seems as if things can't get any more horrific, though it usually tends to. There are so many questions left unanswered. Will Arya avenge her family? How big will Daenerys' dragons be when we next see them? And what evil pleasures does Geoffrey have up his sleeve.

Only time will tell. Or the books....but for those who didn't read them, wait in anticipation for the new season of Game of Thrones to start.

Before departing for the Night's Watch,
Jon Snow presents a sword to his sister Arya.
She names it needle and with it, she learns
the tricks and trade of sword handling.

When we last left off, so much was going on that it's hard to keep track. To keep it short, Robb Stark watched as his baby mama and unborn child were stabbed to death. He and his mother's throats were slit minutes after, therefore leaving, no more king of the north. Arya, Robb's sister, narrowly escaped this slaughter and was rescued by none other than the Hound who plans to bring her to Castleblack where she will be able to find her "bastard" brother, Jon Snow.

"All I know is, Arya is going to f*** some shit up," said Game of Thrones watcher Kyle Owle. "She saw her dad beheaded, her brother and mother were murdered, and her sister is being held captive by an 18 year old sadist."

Big things are expected from her but there's not doubt she won't cease to impress. Ever since receiving her sword, Needle, from brother, Snow, Arya Stark has been working her way to mastering the skillful weapon. She's knocked off several people already and has a growing list, so watch out Joffrey.

Which brings us to the next question, when will somebody put that kid in his place? Joffrey's the type of character who you just want to see killed off. He's a monster, a brat, and a coward. While his midget uncle led the city to battle, Joffrey, the king, hid behind walls. But that's probably why the writers keep him around. He keeps people watching and waiting for the day he gets what everybody knows is coming to him.

Cersei (right), seems to be getting her daily dose of her son,
Joffrey's (center), attitude. Tywin (left), on the other hand, has
just about had enough of his grandsons BS. If I were Joffrey
I wouldn't be pushing the buttons of my war lord grandfather.
In other news, on the other side of the world, Daenerys, a.k.a mother of dragons, has been freeing cities left and right. Since hatching her dragons, everything has been going swimmingly for her. She's acquired an elite army, ships, and hundreds of loyal supporters. Seeing as how she has three fire breathing dragons, she's going to be a tough one to beat.

This series story line is based off the idea of a battle for the crown, while, lurking in the midst is an even larger problem at hand. This larger problem being the White Walkers, an extremely large army of ice zombies. At the end of season 3, the main characters soon begin to realize that conquering the throne will mean nothing unless the walkers are destroyed.

With that being said, it feels like the season 4 opener will give insight to the questions, how will the White Walkers be stopped, who will be the one to do it, and who will conquer the throne after the walkers are all said and done? Thrones follower, Clifton Marshall seems to think Daenerys will have something to do with it all.

"Calise (Daenerys) may be a continent away from the action but she's packing some heat, both her dragons and her looks," said Marshall. "She's been a go-getter the entire series so it'd come as no surprise if she came out on top."

Daenerys and, what seems to be, her favorite dragon. It
is always by her side and tends to be more of
a camera whore than the other two.
Daenerys and Arya have the bad ass woman thing going for them and as much as viewers want them to overcome, it seems that there is an undying theme of killing off the most liked characters. After building such a relationship with the people in the story, it's sad to see them go, but that's what's appealing about the show. It's different then your average predictable story line. It keeps people on the edge of their seats unsure of what will happen next.

Season 4 of the hit television series is set to premiere April 6, 2014 on HBO so mark your calendars because "winter is coming".
